God's will

I live with my mom. My life revolves in doing stuff for myself and taking care of my mom, spending time with relatives from time to time and doing surfing on the net with some friends. I think it is God's will that I spend my time with my mom for almost 12 years now, since my father died some 8 years ago. I am the moral support of my mom, through thick and thin. I think this is my divine mission. To be with my mom for almost all the time. For some reason, God didn't give me work, at least ones which I wanted so that I can spend time with my mom and support her all the way. There are times too when all the person I can reach for a day is only my mom or some neighbor or a few relatives of ours and that's it. No social life for that entails money allowance for gimmicks and outings. Just a few fellow churchgoers and that's it. I guess that's what you really call God's will. Other people reach out to a lot of people because of their families or their work. It's called God's will. Me, I sort of spend it with my mom alone and that's it. But there will come a time when I have to find somebody to be with, what if my mom dies or leaves me alone? I will have nobody and I don't want to be alone in this world. God give me a mission, please. And change me for the better. For all my misgivings in the past may He give me a new mission and a better self. I would always want to spend time with other people mostly with family and friends. At this time in my life, what I do now are things that matter to me until I am old. I am looking for forever friends. With this new mission from God, I will certainly have a new life, new relationships, new friendships.

Material things in this world

You shop and you shop and what will you do with all these stuff in your closet or in your house when you're gone. It cannot be used anymore by you for you cannot bring them to heaven. Everything is just temporary even if you accumulate all these stuff on this earth. They are all nothing. I guess what is important are the things that you have learned all your life, your contributions to other people, the friendships you have fostered, the conversations, the life you had.

When you receive money what do you do? Do you go straight to the store and purchase things? Me, when I receive money, it goes directly to food, magazines and books and clothes, very minimal and much just goes to my needs. It is just merely enough for my needs and a few things more. I do not buy expensive items anymore. I feel it is just a waste of money.

Finding work is kinda tough because I didn't want accounting. Whenever I apply somewhere, I hope, but unfortunately, it passes out on me. I keep on changing my ideas, my plans because you keep on hoping for the job to be yours but you always fail to get it. It's been 10-12 years and I am tired. God please let the HR and the would be employers explain to me what they have been doing to my resume. And so you see, I have not much option or not much money to splurge.

But I am happy.

I found out that material things are not the most important things in this world.

That what's more important are the things unseen, the treasures that God is giving to you.

I have learned to budget and handle my finances well because I now know that every peso counts.

And I have learned to spend on valuable things alone and not wasteful things.

I have learned to finish my food everytime.

And enjoy myself even with the little that I've got.

I keep on looking for employment but it doesn't come. I am not much into selling. And I don't know how to have a business yet. But I am working towards it. Everyday. And as you can see I can say that my life is a blast.

The expensive life or the simple life

I'd rather choose the simple life because, I have been there and have experienced it. The expensive life is overflowing and sometimes gone to waste. I surely do know how it is to have few and so I think we should not waste at all if there is abundance.

I miss my friends

I surely miss some of my friends. They have been close to my heart once upon a time in my life and I surely want to be with them one more time. They were there during the crucial moments of my life and they were there to support you when you were going through all sorts of things in your life. I was wondering how they are right now? They have become good friends to me. We share the same values in life such as religion and we talk about things that matter like life and current events. I wish I could be with them one more time.

How a day is done?

What do you do if you have nothing to be busy with? You have been forever looking for a job and it seems that time has passed you by and still you haven't found the opportunities. Me, I just go with my mom and her outings. I get to live by my mom. And if it isn't too much, I ask for a little amount of money just to go to the mall and do whatever stuff I can. As I have said, money making for me is like a drop of rain in the dessert, literally, my mind cannot form the process of earning money in my mind and so I have limited activities when it comes to my financial world and also in the not so financial aspects of my life. But no complaints. I am just doing the best I could and still deciding that the arts is better than accountancy. Wish that I could just deviate from that. Cause it's just hard to have the regrets in terms of career, the dissatisfaction of not attaining what you want, what your heart says you do just because people do not trust in you anymore nor listen or give you a chance. You just always hope for the best!

My secret potential

Sales. I know I haven't practiced selling ever since then, since childhood, but from the way I have experienced it in my life, I think I have a secret potential in sales. First, I like people. Sales is a relationship process with your customers. You should like to be talking to other people, offering your products and creating a relationship with them. Fulfilling their needs. All i ever sold was some computer products which I have referred to an actual sales executive for my mom's firm (she was an employee of the firm and part-owner) and I did it because of helping her and not for profit. I received a commission of a measly 200-500 for that one computer and the rest of the purchases for that account, I haven't received any commissions anymore because it was handled by the manager himself. Some cosmetic products and foreign exchange. I am not the indulgent, determined type who goes into selling. I just take everything in stride and you know I'm not on the pressure to sell something. But I am definitely interested in it and definitely going into it.

There are those who are really good at it and I envy them. I just wish I share some of their talents. I have read books on sales and it seems very interesting and rewarding but sometimes, I prefer to learn it hands on and in practice rather than just read about it.

I've learned one thing, commissions are great to earn.

Do not be money bound

Can you actually do it? For me, it is really a great challenge to make money, maybe for others it isn't. It's been 12 years and so it doesn't help that people do not entrust you with responsibility like offer a job to you or any money making plan. Is it possible to not be money bound. In every move, you need money. You cannot go out of your house without money so you need to figure out how to get them. Just any ideas. I can write. I can teach accounting. I can accept accounting jobs freelance. I can accept full time accounting jobs. I can sell. Just anything. I can pursue my big dreams. I can connect with other people. I can just connect, connect and connect. As I have said before, if I had a million friends, I would never go hungry or grow poor without any material blessings. The concept of sharing has got to rub on me when you have lots of friends. I think one main cause of poverty is isolation. Isolation from other human beings of this world. If you've got lots of friends, opportunities come around easily. They come knocking at your doors. Plus, you get to share what they have. In all honesty, you need not much money to keep up. Just something minimal. But if you're gonna enjoy the luxury you need much money. And some of the most pressing needs in this life are expensive like cars, homes, food, quality food, services, medical bills, insurance and businesses. So you gotta have money, poverty is not an excuse. All the more, you need to exercise your power to work, to alleviate your poverty. But when you lose all hope, just don't lose all the hope you've got, you gotta leave something for yourself and your family and get up and exercise your working muscles. And people could be kind, they can help you if you are in dire need. Just call. So now, do you have ideas on where to get that moolah. Just keep on reaching for it!

Some ideas on how to enjoy life:

Go to mass everyday and ask for 150 a day allowance for transpo and food. Mondays to Fridays.

Volunteer to do something helpful for the needy, one that is your passion and interest.

Connect with the world.

Work, it is a divine responsibility.
